WHAT IS THE H.I.R.?
The Hebrew Institute of Riverdale is an Orthodox Synagogue which serves the entire Jewish community. The Hebrew Institute is a synagogue that warmly embraces all Jews regardless of affiliation, commitment or background. It is affectionately known as the "Bayit", which is a home - a place of love and welcome. The HIR is known nationally for bringing spirituality into the synagogue, for its activism, its learning programs, and its work on behalf of the elderly, homebound, and the mentally and physically challenged. HIR CLOTHING DRIVE
- Sun., March 21 9:30am-12:30pm
Please sort and bag separately men's, women's and children's clothing in sturdy garbage bags. Deposit clothing in the truck that will be stationed outside the HIR. Volunteers are needed. If you are able to help for even a short amount of time please call Steve Pretsfelder or Barbara Gochberg at 718-601-3586 or e-mail spretsfelder@vanwagner.com.

FREE PESACH SEDERS

Join us to eat, drink, celebrate and relive the story of our Exodus at HIR's free Passover Seders for either the first Seder on Mon., Mar. 29 at 8:00pm, or the second Seder on Tues., Mar. 30 at 8:00pm. Call the office to reserve your spot by Friday, March 26. Sponsorships are needed.

To ensure that it is a chag kasher vesameach, we'll study the laws and details of what foods are products can be bought and used for Pesach, and how to clean our homes in a halakhic way.

CHAMETZ & NON-CHAMETZ FOOD DRIVE
We are collecting Chametz and non-Chametz food items that are nourishing, unopened and non-perishable. A portion of the food collected will help local neighbors in need and a portion will be donated to City Harvest. Please drop off food in the boxes that are in the coat room by Tues., Mar. 23 at 5:00pm.
