WHAT IS THE H.I.R.?
The Hebrew Institute of Riverdale is an Orthodox Synagogue which serves the entire Jewish community. The Hebrew Institute is a synagogue that warmly embraces all Jews regardless of affiliation, commitment or background. It is affectionately known as the "Bayit", which is a home - a place of love and welcome. The HIR is known nationally for bringing spirituality into the synagogue, for its activism, its learning programs, and its work on behalf of the elderly, homebound, and the mentally and physically challenged. NEW YIZKOR BOOK FOR SHAVUOT
Our Book of Remembrance is now in formation. You must submit this form each year in order to have a listing in the book. Please fill out the form and return it with your optional contribution to the shul office by Tuesday, May 27. To view and print the Book of Remembrance form please click here.


WELCOME COMMITTEE
A new committee has been formed to welcome new families into our community. If you are new to the area, we would love to host you for a meal and introduce you to Riverdale. Do you and your spouse want to daven and take care of the kids on Shabbat mornings but find it difficult to do all this at once?

HIR has the answer for you! HIR is proud to announce "Minyan Shalom Bayit."
Join us for the new weekly Shabbat morning shacharit at 6:50am in the beit midrash. All are welcome!
